Fort Hood Soldiers Monitor Mosquito Population

Mosquitoes thrive best when it is consistently above 70 degrees. Because of this, Texas has one of the longest mosquito seasons in the country. First Lieutenant John Hackler and Pfc. Jamie Evans, both assigned to Alpha Company, Troop Battalion, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, catch mosquitoes, ticks, bed bugs, roaches, along with other flying insects and creepy crawlers. Hackler is the medical entomology program manager and Evans is a preventative medicine specialist at CRDAMC.

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center named Staff Sgt. Phillip M. Hubbard, radiology specialist, the 2023 winner of the CRDAMC Best Medic Competition, and Cpt. Matthew J. Perdue, physician assistant, as the runner-up in a ceremony at the hospital, Sept. 9.

Graduating Tri-Service (Army, Navy and Air Force) emergency and family medicine residents, nurses, combat medics, surgeons and an array of other medical personnel, enduring one of the most hottest months in central Texas this year, completed a week long Joint Emergency Medical Exercise (JEMX) June 10.

CRDAMC names central utility plant after its late project manager Jeffrey W. Bodkin

The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center held a ceremony dedicating its Central Utility Plant after the late Jeffrey W. Bodkin June 2. Bodkin worked for almost 12 years as a project manager and contracting officer representative in the facility management division of CRDAMC before medically retiring in 2019 and passing away in 2021.
