Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

What is the EFMP?

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated medical, mental health, educational, housing, community support, and personnel services to active-duty family members with special needs.

Enterprise EFMP (E-EFMP)

EFMP enrollment and Family Member Travel Screening (FMTS) actions are processed through the E-EFMP website. The intent of E-EFMP is to make it easier and more convenient for service members and their families to navigate the wide and sometimes complex array of resources, benefits, and care available.

Existing and potential EFMP families should register in E-EFMP at https://efmp.army.mil/EnterpriseEfmp/. Families can access the E-EFMP website with a DS Logon or CAC.

Service members with adult dependent Family members (18 years and older) who are unable to log in, will need to request a DS Logon account at https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/ for those adult family members to access E-EFMP and sign their own documents. Using their CAC Card to log in, the service member should click on the relationships column, select the adult family member, and request a DS Logon for that family member. The family member will receive an email with a PIN to create their own DS Logon. If unable to create a DS Logon, please contact the DMDC help desk at 1-800-368-3665.

Service members should also ensure that the information for adult family members is accurate on MilConnect/DEERS and that family members have a valid unique email address and phone number. Family members cannot register with a shared email address.

EFMP Enrollments, Updates, and Disenrollment

Soldiers must initiate enrollment actions on the E-EFMP website. If applicable, documents can also be submitted in person or via email. Once all required documents are received, the family will receive a call from the EFMP Case Coordinator.

Family Member Travel Screening

Soldiers must initiate the FMTS process on the E-EFMP website. Once all required documents are received, the family will receive a call from the EFMP Medical Director to conduct a telephonic screening.

Once an enrollment or FMTS package is received by the EFMP office in E-EFMP, the family will be contacted within 72 business hours to provide additional instructions.  If your family has not received a follow up within 72 business hours, please email the EFMP office at  usarmy.hood.medcom-crdamc.mbx.efmp@health.mil or give our office a call at (254) 288-8099 or (254) 553-0710.
