Fort Cavazos Soldier wins U.S. Army Company Grade Social Worker of the Year

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Cpt. Jamie Webb, behavioral health officer and social worker, 36th Eng. Brig., received the Army Surgeon General’s 2023 Company Grade Social Worker of the Year award in a ceremony at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Nov. 25. The award honors a company grade social worker who demonstrates the strongest commitment to the core values of the Army, exhibits clinical expertise and serves as a versatile and resilient leader within the social work profession.

MRC, W awards top medics of its 2024 Best Medic Competition

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The Medical Readiness Command, West leaders celebrated the exceptional dedication, skill, and resilience of its finest top two-man Soldier team by awarding Staff Sgt. Dominic Kochen, operating room technician, and Cpl. Nolan Wallace, practical nurse specialist, Brooke Army Medical Center, the 1st place winners of its 2024 Best Medic Competition in an awards ceremony 21 Nov. This year’s competition, hosted by the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, highlighted the best of MRC, West, with the winners advancing to the prestigious Army CSM Jack L. Clark Jr. Best Medic Competition. Scheduled to take place in February 2025 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Camp Bullis, the event will determine the Army’s Best Medics.

CRDAMCs County and Health Fair highlights Fort Cavazos 49th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Fort Cavazos III Armored Corps held its 49th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day and the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center hosted the opening ceremony and the County and Health Fair Oct. 26. CRDAMC offered immunizations, routine health screenings, health-related information tables and more at the event.

Pastoral care team dedicates week of care to hospital, community

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas –The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center’s Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care team hosted three events during its Pastoral Care Week, Oct. 20-25. A Blessing of the Hands, a Walk to Remember, and a Prayer Breakfast were all centered around the concept of spiritual resiliency and readiness.

Darnall hosts Change of Responsibility, retires fifth generation Soldier

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center held a Change of Responsibility ceremony marking a significant leadership transition and the end of a military career Oct. 2. Outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony K. Forker Jr., CRDAMC senior enlisted advisor, relinquished his position to Command Sgt. Maj. Antonio Davis, who will serve as interim command sergeant major until early 2025.

CRDAMC holds transfer of authority ceremony for its Medical Support Unit

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The 7222nd Medical Support Unit assumed the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Centers medical support mission, augmenting medical services to the Fort Cavazos Deployment Readiness Center, as Lt. Col. James Robinson, commander, 7222nd MSU and 1st. Sgt. Pedro Lopezcolon, senior enlisted advisor, uncased the unit’s colors in a transfer of authority ceremony at the hospital 28 Aug.

CRDAMC certifies nurses during CNTP program ceremony

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center held a ceremony for five nurses completing the Army Nurse Corps Brig. Gen. retired Anna Mae Hays Clinical Nurse Transition Program 14 Aug. The 24-week program offers a variety of clinical experiences for the residents, in addition to 80 plus hours of didactic classroom learning, and a minimum of 800 clinical hours rotating throughout CRDAMC’s various departments.

CRDAMC Kidz Fest offers school and sports physicals and more

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center provided parents the opportunity to get their children’s sports and school physicals early in conjunction with its first Kidz Fest Aug. 3. Family members enrolled in CRDAMC clinics got to make appointments at the hospital’s pediatric clinic or walk in to and Family Medicine Residency clinic during the Saturday event.
