AFWC now offers BOD POD measurements on a walk-in basis

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Service members can now get help achieving health and fitness goals by using the Body Composition machine, or Bod Pod, on a walk-in basis pilot program from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Fort Cavazos Armed Forces Wellness Center. The Bod Pod is now approved by the Army as a supplemental way to measure body fat, and the AFWC has made this time available for service members. The service is also available for eligible veterans and family members, and the pilot will determine if the AFWC needs make it available on other days.

CRDAMC's "Black Knight" Troop Battalion welcomes new commander

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – The Troop Battalion at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center bid farewell to Lt. Col. Jody Shipley as Lt. Col. Jamie L. Culbreath assumed command during a ceremony Aug. 4 here. Culbreath, a medical service corps officer, holds a master’s of science degree, a master’s degree in business administration, and is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College.

MRC, W senior leader advisor visits with CRDAMC medical Soldiers

Fort Cavazos, Texas – U.S. Army Medical Readiness Command, West, Command Sgt. Maj. Jennifer Francis talks with junior and senior enlisted Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Soldiers during a visit to the hospital Aug. 4. The senior enlisted advisor, originally a pharmacy technician, expressed the important role that the, many different, enlisted medical specialties have played in the past and how much more important it will be for the Army’s future, answered questions about the Army’s vision for the enlisted medical corps and shared advice on balancing an Army career and personal life.

Troop Battalion, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center gets new Senior Enlisted Advisor

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas –Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center welcomed a new Troop Battalion senior enlisted advisor during a ceremony July 19 in the hospital atrium. Command Sgt. Major Antonio Davis assumed command, as outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Stephine Sweat will move on to become the command sergeant major of the U. S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease.

CRDAMC activates emergency operations during Full-Scale Exercise

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas - Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center’s departments and staff exercised its medical operations center and emergency department during the Fort Cavazos Full-Scale Exercise July 11. Coordinating with the III Armor Corps, Fort Cavazos Garrison, Directorate of Emergency Services, and Central Texas area emergency responders and community partner hospitals, the hospital received moulage patients injured from a scenario where an on-post wildfire spread to a housing area on post.
