CRDAMC MRBn Charlie Company holds Change of Command

By Rodney Jackson, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Public Affairs

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Medical Readiness Battalion, Medical Co. Charlie held a change of command ceremony in the hospital atrium April 18.
The reins of leadership changed hands as Lt. Col. Jamie Culbreath received the unit guidon from outgoing commander, Capt. Alexander Deatherage and handed them to Capt. Reymoi R. Jno-Lewis.
Culbreath recognized Deatherage’s accomplishments beginning with a coordinated Norwegian Foot March that started the day about 2:30 a.m.
He went on to thank Deatherage for his exceptional accomplishments and wished him and his family well as he transitions out of the military. He also welcomed Jno-Lewis and offered both leaders advice for the future.
“Charlie Company is more unique given its consistent turnover of personnel, ensuring we're meeting TRADOC (U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command) and MEDCOM (U.S. Army Medical Command) requirements, and all the training that is necessary to prepare our young soldiers for the future fight,” said Culbreath. “As we all know, I'm a huge Ted Lasso fan and I want to leave you with this thought. Success is not about wins and losses. It's about the people you influence, the lessons you learn and the person you become in the process.”
Let that guide you as you continue in your next assignment or next journey, he added.
Deatherage, looking forward to transitioning out of the Army and becoming Alex, praised the military and civilian staff for making the job worth it and encouraged Jno-Lewis to trust, lean on, and listen to the team.
“This command wasn't always easy,” said Deatherage. “It came with long hours, unpredictable emails, and the constant challenge of trying to be in five places at once without missing the next suspense, but it was also full of purpose. I had the privilege of supporting soldiers who are preparing to lead, to heal, to teach and to innovate across the Army.”
Jno-Lewis thanked the command teams for the opportunity to serve and the appreciation, trust and confidence shown him.
“I'm fully committed to leading the student detachment with integrity and dedication,” said Jno-Lewis. “I understand the responsibilities that come with this position, and I will not take it lightly.”
