FORT HOOD, Texas – While the world reveled in the arrival 2021, one Fort Hood couple welcomed a new member to their family.  The little girl was the first of three New Year’s Day deliveries at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

Baby Yara was born at 11:57 a.m. and weight 7 pounds and 10 ounces garnering the title of CRDAMC’s New Year’s Baby. First-time parents Rob and Charlotte were delighted about her New Year’s Day arrival.

Yara arrived a few days later than expected, just in time to celebrate the New Year.

Rob, assigned to 302nd Squadron, is ecstatic about the arrival of their first child. “It’s pretty cool; we’re really excited and happy,” Rob said.

The new parents are looking forward to spending time with Baby Yara and shared their gratitude with the labor and delivery staff.

“We were really impressed with the care here. They did an awesome job,” the new dad said. The new parents shared their gratitude with the L&D team a day after the delivery. “Everyone here was really helpful, especially helping us with things we don’t know because we’re new parents.”
