Getting Care

Patient Safety Division

Patient Safety is Everyone's Responsibility

The Patient Safety and Infection Prevention Offices' mission is to ensure a safe environment for our Soldiers, family members, visitors and the extended health care team at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC). An essential aspect of our hospital safety culture is our staff's willingness to inform the Patient Safety Team about ways we can improve our systems and the safety of our care. Many of our improvement initiatives result from the feedback of our dedicated health care professionals.

What are we doing to ensure your safety?

We are committed to improving patient safety, and the quality of care, through improvement opportunities in medical systems and processes in order to prevent harmful events and the spread of germs that cause infections. One way we do this is by reporting and reviewing Patient Safety Events. By doing this we can identify and fix potentially unsafe conditions in our hospital and clinics to keep you safe.

What can you do to ensure your safety?

You can help create a safe environment in the hospital by working together with your health care professionals as part of the team. You can ensure a safe experience with our health care system by being involved and informed about your treatment. We empower you to speak up when something does not seem right.

Please provide us feedback through the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) system, Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES), and Tricare Inpatient Satisfaction Survey (TRISS) following your care. We use this information to target safety improvement work. Every patient is a part of our team in helping to create a safe environment and exceptional experience.
